A DOG-friendly coffee lounge and luxury pet goods shop has opened in Wilton. Monty & Mabel’s in North Street aims to attract all walks of life with dog visitors able to eat and drink a range of pup cakes, doggy ice treats, doggy beers and even Pawsecco. A 90-year-old has been crowned ‘Woman Of The Year’ for being Britain’s oldest full-time employee, still working 40 hours a week. An empty unit in Darley Street will be re-opened when an expanding pet shop moves from its current home in a city centre market. Next month Jessica King will be moving her pet supplies store King’s Pet Palace from Kirkgate Market, where it has been based in one form or another for 30 years. New research published by Direct Line Pet Insurance reveals how many people feed their dog human food. The study is giving rise to fears of more pets being poisoned through digesting potentially toxic foods. A Watford-based veterinary group has outlined plans to purchase new practices across the UK after securing a £20m funding package. Medivet has already used part of the HSBC funding facility to purchase six sites (four in Wales and two in South London), with the aim to attain more practices across the UK this year.
