The Meet the Buyers event organised by the Gardenex and PetQuip associations has been hailed a success. British suppliers of garden and pet products are set to succeed further into export markets following their participation in the event, held on 21 October. The event has already resulted in positive reactions from a Romanian importer/distributor, who now expects to be placing orders with four or five of the garden suppliers he met at the event. Kennel Club contacts German Shepherd owners for new study

The Kennel Club is calling for owners of German Shepherd Dogs to assist in a behavioural study for the breed. The organisation will be contacting over 8,000 owners from today whose dogs were registered with the Club between 2004 and 2014. The new study will be undertaken by Dr Pam Wiener and her team at The Roslin Institute and Scotland’s Rural College, and will investigate the health and lifestyle of the breed. The Westminster Dog of the Year competition had two worthy winners this week. The annual event took place for the 23rd time on Thursday 29 October at Victoria Tower Gardens in Westminster.
