Formbar Limited, specialist suppliers of shopping trolleys and retailers’ baskets, have launched a new website to mark its tenth year of trading. The company asserts that it has already seen an increase in orders and enquiries since launching the new site. Hilda Teh set up pickapup.com to help dog owners tackle the source of health problems before there became a need to visit the vet. Commenting on the new website, Hilda said: “We are launching this because there is a real gap in the marketplace for a website that caters exclusively for responsible dog owners and breeders. During the summer months, it is crucial for dog owners to be checking their pets daily for fleas. The warm weather brings the parasites out, and fleas can easily be contracted by just a short walk in the woods. The Pets and Aquatics Trade Show 2015 has sold all of its exhibitor stands to a record number of over 180. The two-day event to be held in September is moving to Telford International Centre after six years in Harrogate. The organisers said that visitors can look forward to seeing an unrivalled array of new pet products, witness demonstrations from the country’s leading dog groomers and listen to talks from prominent industry figures. Over a million dogs still not microchipped with new law imminent

Over a million dogs are not microchipped despite the fact it will become illegal in just eight months, according to vet charity PDSA. PDSA is warning that 1.3 million dogs* in the UK have not undergone the procedure, which is due to become compulsory from April 2016. Legislation has been passed to make microchipping legally enforceable in England, Wales and Scotland from next year. Compulsory microchipping is already in force in Northern Ireland. The new rules are designed to make dog owners more accountable for their animals as well as providing better protection for pets which go missing. PDSA is…
